Hi everyone! I know we've been M.I.A for a while...I've been in organizing mode and that is not exciting to blog about! Since we've been in our house for almost two years, I figured it is time to get rid of some boxes :) We have pretty much been working and watching movies all summer. Wohoo!
We were bored one day and decided we were going to get Turbo into his Snuggie, once and for all! He was a little resistant but he wore it for a while, then chewed his way out of it. Boo!
Craig turned one of the extra bedrooms into my music room for Christmas, and I'm still working on it! I had to let it sit for a while until ideas came to me. So frustrating! But now I have a plan and it is all coming together. Today we dumped a bunch of our crap (hence organizing) at the Goodwill, and we stopped inside to see if they had any furniture I needed for the music room.
Somehow, this came home with us...A hula dancing/singing Homer. Leave it to Craig to find the only thing remotely Simpsonized inside the Goodwill! Turbo liked it at first, but now he just wants to tear it apart (that hula skirt is so attractive) so we had to hide it away.
Also, this big mirror landed in the cart. I have mirror issues! I can't resist...
Anywho, I've been wanting to put this table back downstairs because it's the only piece of furniture that fits in this one annoying spot. It looks really cute upstairs, but it doesn't really work as a sewing table in the music room because you can't get a chair up to it. So I moved it back downstairs.
At the GW today, I found this paneled little gem of a desk for $9.99. New sewing table? HOLLA!
Once I paint it and get this chair redone, I will have a nice little sewing area that is a bit more functional. I haven't decided what color to paint the new desk, but everything from teal to silver has run through my brain. OY!
Above the sewing area I have planned to make a wall of frames and mirrors, and I think I've finally collected all the goods. I spent some time laying them out to get an idea of how I should lay them. I still don't know, but Turbo helped...
The big mirror is on clearance at Wal-Mart, so I snatched it up. So cheap! Run and get the rest I say!
Two of the frames/mirrors were free at a sister swap and the rest were at the GW for super cheap. Now to get the pink and teal spray paint and PAR-TAY!
I have my desk area sort of situated (I need to figure out the amp and the headphones) and I actually put a few things up on the wall. This is HUGE progress for me, because I change my mind about stuff on walls so much that it has to sit there until I am 100% sure I like it. For example, I want to flip that giant pink picture board horazontally, but I am going to resist. It's WAY too heavy.
My sitting area just needs a tiny table. I attempted my own ottoman and it was a DISASTER, so I picked up this storage ottoman at Target for super cheap. Sometimes you have to know when to buy it instead! Lesson learned.
I am still on the look out for two matching dressers to hide all my crafting and music making garbage. After that, I'll need two guitar stands and I am done! Then my Barbie barfed on Martha Stewart room will be complete!

I think it's so funny that Turbo actually has a snuggy. Too bad he doesn't love it like all the dogs on the commercials do.
